Changes in Employer Attitude

Being into my kind of profession wherein you need to handle different ob positions you need to recognize the changes. I remember in my time in College we were expecting a career where in the companies were much serious about the kind of recruitment and the quality of the candidates. in late nineties ad early 20s the corporate world were looking for the exact skill set in a candidate to use them in their corporate needs. They were in a mood to recruit quality people and employ them with scrutiny to handle key positions. Earlier HR in corporate People were stringent and were looking for expertise people and for a more specific skill set in candidates. Educational qualification and the fundamental thing were of more importance in the recruitment process. Accordingly the candidates were so conscious. But the changes in the World Economy and its impact on Indian part has made a drastic changes in the corporate world. Now the opportunities are so ample that the infrastructure in hardly satisfying the need. A survey by the Govt of India (I am not sure of the Department or Ministry) says that the current growth rate of the Indian Economy which is according to that of a developing country (8.8 per cent in the four fiscal years ,2003-04 to 2006-07, with the 2006-07 growth rate of 9.6 per cent being the highest in the last 18 years) if it continues to grow in such a manner then in next few years India will be falling short in terms of Infrastructure, Skilled manpower, Energy needs and many other areas. So when you are in a Developing stage this kind of news is really discouraging and you need to gear up to face the challenge. The present day situation is showing such an image wherein corporate people have changed their attitude. now Employers are paying high salaries to their employees as compared to what they were paying 5 or 7 years back. Now Employers are focusing on Hr Aspects like Employee Relations, Collective Bargaining, Employee Welfare and Employee Engagement. These aspects are more looking towards making their Employers satisfied in the organization. Now Employers are not looking for new people to recruit. They are now willing to satisfy the existing manpower and make then an asset for the company. They know that they have got many constraints before them like the availability of the Skilled manpower, the recruitment cost, the training cost and the transition time. All these constraints were already there but the challenge today is the availability of the skilled manpower and the rising Recruitment cost. Now there are two ways to handle the situation. Either to go with the current scenario to bear the recruitment cost and other trends. Else you can retain your existing Employees and understand their needs and satisfy them to keep yourself love in the race .In both the cases you need to be Employee centric as the trend is changing and people are driven by the factors like High Salaries, perks and other benefits which in present days are being a point of attraction for employees. But Employers are being very much Employee centric and looking forward for their concerns. Whatever may be the issue for Employers but definitely the youth is mcuh excited and pulling their socks to gear up with the situation.
